Business Idea Pitching – Campaign message
Call for applications:
To arrest poverty that is exacerbated by rising youth unemployment, Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (BEDCO), introduced a project that is intended to assist youth and entrepreneurs between the ages of 21 to 40 to become employers and drivers of economic growth by becoming entrepreneurs. The project is intended to build a crop of young entrepreneurs who can break the barriers to becoming job creators, not job seekers. The business Idea Pitching targets to award 20 existing entrepreneurs with working capital for the year 2023/24. However, the Idea Pitching will be piloted with two entrepreneurs who need small amounts of funds ranging from M10,000 – M50,000 to finance their working capital.
Who is eligible?
The project specifically targets Basotho youth aged 21 to 40 with the following.

A viable and tested business idea/ venture that indicates growth potential.

Businesses in one of the four NSDPII priority sectors (Manufacturing, Tourism, ICT and Agriculture).
Based on the registered applicants, a pitch event will be organized for those who have shown interest and meet the criteria. A panel of judges will evaluate the ideas as they are being pitched and announce scores instantly to determine winners. The pitching event will be held during the gala dinner, recorded and live-streamed on social media platforms.
